The Holy Alliance: Bush, Blair, Bono and Sir Bob
An unprecedented joint statement issued by the leading scientific academies of the world has called on the G8 governments to take urgent action to avert a global catastrophe caused by climate change. The national academies of science for all the G8 countries, along with those of Brazil, India and China, have warned that governments must no longer procrastinate on what is widely seen as the greatest danger facing humanity. The statement, which has taken months to finalise, is all the more important as it is signed by Bruce Alberts, president of the US National Academy of Sciences, which has warned George Bush about the dangers of ignoring the threat posed by global warming.

An unprecedented warning as global warming worsens

Oh good! Now, we just have to teach him to read... But don't worry, please. Bono will fix everything. He's already had talks with Wolfowitz, who has been promoted to lead the World Bank after helping Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the oil gang to invade Afghanistan and Iraq and spread terror and death among innocent civilians. The Project for the New American Century has just started. Despite the elegant dresses, the flashes of the media and oceans of empty rhetoric, these ladies and gentlemen are mass murderers and war criminals who belong to prison and deserve our contempt. Obviously they would never be able to be who they are and do what they do without the magnificent work of the "free media". Smiling journalists who celebrate the leaders, hide the facts, play with words, close their eyes... but so happy to be part of the "elite", to bow and scrape to the masters who call them by first name. What an honor! So, let's make poverty history, Sir Bob. Mr Geldof has really a beautiful face. He's a serious man and a great soul. And all the others too. Madonna, Sting, Paul McCarthy... and Bono, of course, who's been praised so warmly by Cowboy George W. Hey, Sir Bob. Everybody was so busy in planning all this and talk with Blair and talk with Wolfowitz and talk with the "free media"... but Sir Bob, please tell me: Why didn't you invite any African singer? As you must know, there are great African musicians... and they must know one thing or two about Africa, don't you think so Sir Bob? What about black musicians? Don't you think Sir Bob that they are good enough to play and sing with you and your friends? You talk about justice, Sir Bob. Maybe... but it seems to me just a very big PR operation, orchestrated to the benefit of those who will sing that summer day in Scotland.
So, what are we left with? It seems to me we are LEFT with millions of people around the world, who can easily read and understand what's going on and don't want to have anything to do with this propaganda operation, very useful to PM Blair to manipulate information and present himself as the hero who tried to save Africa (sic!) and not as the real man he is: a cold, cruel, ambitious war criminal. One of the worst mass murderers of these bloody times.
Poetry, music, cinema, literature... There was a time - if only in our souls - when power would fear art and artists were not afraid to speak out their minds and give voice to the powerless. I know there are still many of these women and men around the world... but they will not be singing in Scotland with Bono and Sir Bob.
So, let's go to Scotland this July. Just let's listen to a different kind of music... Tune here to know more!!!
